Pointers Finish Tied for Second at WIAC Championships

WHITEWATER-The UW-Stevens Point men’s cross country team tied for second with 64 points at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships this Saturday in Whitewater. The defending champion Pointers had their top-5 runner place in the top 26.
Four runners finish in the top 20 with Joel Heroux placing third overall with a time of 25:47 to pace the Pointers.
UW-La Crosse won the championship with 26 points and had all five runners place in the top ten.
Brandon Dworak (Denmark) finished tenth with a time of 26:05,
Tim Thornburg (Delafield) and
Sean Hasenstein (Sheboygan) finished 12th and 13th with times of 26:08 and 26:14 respectively and
Nick Schaefer (New London) came in 26th for the Pointers with a time of 26:28.
Elsewhere
Spencer Houk (Sun Prairie) finished 32nd and
Terry Witkowski (Delafield) finished 35th to round out the top seven for the Pointers. Houk posted a time 26:38 and Witkowski a time of 26:43.
The Pointers return to action on Saturday, November 14th when they run in NCAA Midwest Regional in Oshkosh.
