The Pointers were receiving votes heading into last week, but a 3-0 week propelled them into the top 25. Messiah (Pa.), the defending National Champion, is ranked No. 1 nationally with a 13-0-1 record. Wheaton (Ill.), who the Pointers lost to earlier this season, rank as the first team receiving votes to get into the poll.
The Pointers are currently ranked No. 2 in the North region for week eight. Concordia-Moorhead currently holds the No. 1 spot in the regional poll with a 14-0-1 record.
The Pointers will return to action on Thursday, Nov. 5, when they will host a second round WIAC tournament match against the lowest remaining team. The Pointers have received a first round bye in the tournament after winning the WIAC regular season title.
