Results

WINNECONNE – Zoe Bitner (Menasha) finished fifth in a field of 15 runners on Friday afternoon at the UW-Oshkosh Cross Country Open at the Lake Breeze Golf Course. No team scores were kept at the event.

Bitner posted a time of 21:47 to lead the field of eight Pointers competing at the event. Brittany Danitnne finished sixth, just behind Bitner with a time of 21:51.

Elsewhere for the Pointers, Sarah Coughlin (Sturtevant) finished ninth with a time of 22:49 and Tara Whiting (McFarland) finished 10th with a time of 23:20. Kristin Johnson (Weyauwega), Amanda Roswell (Eleva), Julie Krzykowski (Junction City) and Chelsea Czarnecki (Ashland) rounded out the field of Pointers, finishing 12th through 15th.

The Pointers return to action on Oct. 31 as they travel to UW-Whitewater for the 2009 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship. Women's action begins at Noon.
