OSHKOSH - Joel Heroux (Sturgeon Bay) paced the Pointers with a time of 24:41, good for eighth place as UW-Stevens Point finished second at the 2009 Brooks Cross Country Invite at Lake Breese Golf Course on Saturday in Winneconnee.

The Pointers placed all seven runners in the top-40 of the 551 runners.

Elsewhere for UWSP, Brandon Dworak (Denmark) finished 20th with his time of 24:48, Terry Witkowski (Delafield) finished 22nd overall with a time of 25:01, Nick Schaefer (New London) finished 23rd with a time of 25:04 and Sean Hasenstein (Sheboygan) finished 24th with his time of 25:08.

Rounding out the top-7 for Stevens Point, Mark Mitchell (Franklin) finished 31st overall with a time of 25:13 and Spencer Houk (Sun Prairie) finished 38th with a time of 25:20.

Members of the Pointers team will be in action next Friday, Oct. 23 when they compete at the Conference Qualifier in Oshkosh before the full squad will compete at the WIAC Championships on Oct. 31 at UW-Whitewater.
