LA CROSSE – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team dropped their second match in as many days, falling to UW-La Crosse 8-1 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis action Saturday morning.
The Pointers fell behind 3-0 after doubles and the Eagles continued their winning ways in singles, winning all but the No. 1 flight.
Rachel Benn (Stevens Point/SPASH) (Stevens Point) scored the only point for UWSP, winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 over Lacrosse's Kelly Kuether at No. 1 singles.
The loss drops the Pointers to 5-5 overall, 1-2 in WIAC play. The Eagles improve to 3-1 overall, 1-0 in WIAC play.
UW-Stevens Point returns home to face UW-Stout and Ripon College next weekend, Oct. 4 at SentryWorld Sports Complex, beginning at 10 a.m.
