About the Tommies: The University of St. Thomas is making its first NCAA Appearance for the first time since the 2001 season. The Tommies received one of the 21 at-large bids to qualify. St. Thomas is 34-16 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. The Tommies are 4-4 against the NCAA field with non-conference losses against Simpson and McMurry and with a 2-1 record against both Carleton and Gustavus Adolphus. St. Thomas has won 16 of its last 20 games and reached to 20-win mark for the first time in six seasons.
About the Maroons: The University of Chicago is making its second NCAA appearance and its first since the 1994-95 season. The Maroons are 0-1 in tournament games. The Maroons have won seven straight games and defeated Washington (Mo.) 76-53 on the final day of the regular season to win the University Athletic Association (UAA). Chicago is 5-4 against NCAA Tournament teams this season.
About the Green Knights: St. Norbert College is making its eighth tournament appearance and is 7-11 all-time in the tournament. The Green Knights extended its Midwest Conference record to eight championships by defeating Lake Forest College 83-64 on Saturday. St. Norbert has won 10 straight and 15 of their last 16.
About the Pointers: UW-Stevens Point is making its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The Pointers won the national championship in 1987 and 2002. They made it to the Final Four in its last appearance in 2004. The Pointers became the first non-No. 1 seed to win the WIAC Tournament Championship after knocking off the two-seed UW-Whitewater on Thursday and then beating the No. 1 seed UW-Eau Claire in the championship on Saturday.
