STEVENS POINT - The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team finished the day 1-1, defeating Ripon College 9-0 in non-conference action, but fell to UW-Stout 5-4 on Saturday afternoon at SentryWorld.
Against Stout, the Pointers overcame a 3-0 deficit after doubles to tie the match at 4-4, but UW-Stout's Emily Jubert won a three-set match against Kaitlin King, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 to take home the victory for the Blue Devils.
Against Ripon, the Pointers ended their four-match losing skid, winning cruising to the 9-0 victory.
Rachel Benn (Stevens Point/SPASH) (Stevens Point),
Chelsea Allbaugh (Bettendorf, IA/Pleasant Valley) (Bettendorf, Iowa),
Emily Riordan (Appleton/North) (Appleton) and
Kaylei Sorensen (Plover, WI/SPASH) (Plover) were double-winners in singles on the day, with each winning their singles matches against Stout and Ripon.
The Pointers (6-4, 1-3 WIAC) next faces UW-Whitewater in Whitewater on Oct. 7 in a 3:30 p.m. match-up with the Warhawks before closing out the regular season at home Oct. 17 against UW-Oshkosh.
