University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point Athletics

The 2011-12 season is Karlyn Jakusz’s eighth season as the Pointer Women’s Tennis Coach.

In 2009, Jakusz was selected as the WIAC Coach-of-the-Year after leading her team to its best finish since 1996. For the first time in program history, the team qualified for the WIAC Spring Final Four. Jakusz, a Stevens Point native, was an assistant coach with the Pointers in 2003, before taking over in 2004. Each year, the Pointer’s have moved up the conference standings.

Before taking over the head coaching position, Jakusz helped with local high school teams and coordinated the USTA North Central league for four years. In addition to being a part-time athletics staff member, Jakusz is employed on campus as the Telemanagement Administrator in the UWSP Information Technology, Telephone Support Office. She is a Stevens Point Area Senior High and UW-Madison graduate.
