BLAINE, Minn. – The No. 15 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (1-2-0) dropped a 4-0 final at Bethel (2-0-0) on Friday night in non-conference play.
The Royals broke the scoreless tie at 16:53 of the first period. UWSP had tested BU goaltender Austin Ryman eight times to no avail prior to the goal.
Bethel scored at 8:39 and 17:31 of the second period to take a 3-0 lead to the third.
The Pointers tested Ryman 11 times in the first, 11 times in the second and 14 times in the third period, but were unable to get a puck past him. The Royals added an empty-net goal in the final minute of play.
UWSP closes out the season-opening four-game road trip at Saint Mary's on Saturday (Nov. 8). Puck drop in Winona is set for 7:00 p.m.
