EAU CLAIRE, Wis.- The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Georgianni Invite this weekend. The team cut eight shots off their score from Saturday to finish at 349 for the day. This is the best two-day score the Pointers have had since the 2011 fall season.

Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) cut one stroke off her Sunday round to tie for 23rd with 86 (+14) shots. Â
Notables: Claire Tomzcik tied for 26
th with an 88 (+16) shot round. Kate Downie had another 89 shot round to tie for 36
th.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: UW-La Crosse won the tournament with 642 shots, 28 shots ahead of the second-place finishing team. They had three golfers finish in the top ten.
Top Individual: Lexie Meade from UW-Eau Claire cut five shots off her score from yesterday to finish with a total 153 shots.
Up next: The Pointers will head to the UW-La Crosse Invitational on Saturday, September 24
th. Tee off is at 1 p.m.
