Pointers Finish Second at Eastbay Invite

STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stevens Point women's track team ran their way to a second place finish on Saturday afternoon, collecting 94 teams points with three first-place finishes at the Eastbay/Stevens Point Invitational.

Elizabeth Caine (Plover, SPASH) posted another first-place finish in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.23. Kristin Kuber (Tomahawk) and Ann Burhop (Hartford, Martin Luther) finished 1-2 in the 400-meter dash with times of 1:00.53 and 1:01.62 and Sara Kline (Casco, Luxemberg-Casco) finished first in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.54 to round out the day's first place finishers.

Elsewhere Allison Wolter (Kaukauna) and Sandy Hause (Bruce) finished 2-3 in the women's one mile run, finishing with times of 5:18.5 and 5:22.72 respectively. Ashley Woest (Abrams, Pulaski) and Sarah Glunn (Arborvitae, Lakeland Union) finished 2-3 in the 800-meter run and Shaunie Krueger (Kiel) finished second in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:00.18.

The Pointers return to action at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Indoor Championships on Feb. 28-March 1 at the UW-Stout Sports and Fitness Center in Menomonie.
