- Came to UW-Stevens Point in 1956 and appointed chair of the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation in 1957
- Instrumental in promoting and innovating many programs in intramurals, health education and physical education
- Head coach of wrestling and track teams and football team’s defensive coordinator for 12 years
- Helped implement gymnastics, swimming and ice hockey into the athletic program
