Amy Statz was a Pointer from 2003 to 2007 and finished her senior season leading the WIAC in career wins with 68, a record which held for 10 years. Statz still holds the titles of career shutouts (20), wins in a season (20) and is second in saves (1811). During her UWSP career, she was a part of two NCHA regular season titles, four NCHA playoff titles, a runner up and two third-place finishes in the NCAA Tournament. In addition to her achievements on the ice, Statz was an excellent student in the classroom, three times named to the NCHA All-Academic team. She was also the 2007 NCHA Scholar Athlete and a Third-Team Academic All-American. Statz earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training and went on to get a master's degree in physician assistant studies from the Baylor College of Medicine.
