A prominent figure in the world of youth softball in the Plover/Whiting area for 16 years, Head Coach Tom Henke brings a wealth of softball coaching experience to the Pointers.
Set to begin his second year with the Pointers in 2010, Henke led the Pointers to their 16th straight 20-plus win season in 2009, posting a 21-20 mark, 5-11 in WIAC play.
A head fastpitch coach of the Plover-Whiting Youth Athletics league team since 1993, Coach Henke’s teams have finished in first place six of the last nine years. Henke has also served as the head coach of the Plover-Whiting fastpitch tournament team since 2000, and led the team to a third place finish in the Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) National Tournament in 2007. Henke’s tournament team’s have posted a .750 winning percentage in his eight years at the helm.
A 1980 graduate of UW-La Crosse with a degree in Marketing, Coach Henke serves as the president of Felker Brothers Corporation of Marshfield, a business specializing in stainless steel piping products. Coach Henke and his wife, Lois, live in Stevens Point with their three daughters Samantha, Cassandra and Nicole.
