Mission Statement:
Represent the student athletes of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point by having a positive impact on the university and community through active leadership. SAAC will create a winning and supportive environment by building a larger team of student athletes, coaches, and athletic staff. Together the list of achievements and goals are endless.
Specifically we will:
-Foster an environment that enables students-athletes to accept responsibility for their education and behaviors.
-Emphasize academics above athletics and help athletes understand the value of their education both in and out of the classroom.
-Strive to provide a quality undergraduate athletics experience for both female and male athletes in a non-scholarship setting which are competitive at the conference level, and in some cases. at the national level.
-Promote athletic experiences which reflect the highest ethical standards in keeping with the dignity and high purposes of education. Sports offered will comply with satisfactory standards of scholarships, sportsmanship, and amateurism.
-Initiate, stimulate and improve intercollegiate athletic programs for student athletes and promote and develop educational leadership, physical fitness, sports participation as a recreational pursuit and athletic excellence. (NCAA Guide)
