UW-Stevens Point won every match in straight sets to coast past Wisconsin Lutheran 9-0 in a non-conference women’s tennis match on Saturday in Milwaukee.
The Pointers’ Rachel Benn at No. 1 singles and Emily Bouche at No. 6 singles both had perfect days with 6-0, 6-0 victories. Mashell VerBockel won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and Sarah O’Melia cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 triumph at No. 4 singles. Emily Riordan won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 and Kaitlyn King posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5.
Bouche and Emily Oxton had the easiest doubles win with an 8-1 victory at No. 3. King and VerBockel teamed for an 8-3 win at No. 2, while Benn and Riordan won 8-5 at No. 1.
The win was the third straight for the Pointers, who improved to 4-3 for the season.
